The conditions that microdermabrasion helps

- Mild, shallow acne scarring
- Melasma
- Solar lentigines
- Dilated pores
- Oily skin
- Thick skin
How microdermabrasion works
At Providence our microdermabrasion treatments are very effective and very easy to take, with no downtime. They are non-invasive and non-surgical. Microdermabrasion involves the use of aluminum oxide or sodium chloride crystals to exfoliate the skin surface. The crystals are sprayed onto the skin through a wand that also suctions back the crystals and any dead skin that has been removed. The degree of exfoliation is determined by the amount of suction used, along with the number of passes made over an area.
Each of our microdermabrasion sessions includes both the face and the neck. We recommend a series of six sessions to enhance skin hydration, sebum production, and texture. Appointments are spaced two to three weeks apart to allow the skin to recover. No anesthesia or numbing agents are necessary.
