A Lifelong Commitment to Education
Education has always played a central role in Dr. Gear’s life. He began his journey into medical training at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. After earning his medical degree, he completed residencies in general and plastic surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Dr. Gear further refined his skills and knowledge through fellowships in both cosmetic surgery and pediatric/craniofacial surgery.

Dr. Gear has worked in both private practice and within a corporate cosmetic medical structure. That breadth of experience provided first-hand knowledge of both positive and negative ways to run a cosmetic surgery practice. He incorporated the best elements from all those experiences into Providence Plastic Surgery & Skin Center.

Staying connected to other cosmetic surgery specialists and remaining abreast of advancements in his field are both important to Dr. Gear. He maintains membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and received board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
