istock 502993775We’re all waiting for this dumb virus to move on and to go hang out with the Swine Flu, SARS, the Bird Flu, and all the others that have come and gone before it. At least the end is in sight.

Speaking of ends, would you like a shapelier backside for the post-COVID beach and pool season? If so, now’s a great time to come see us at Providence and have Dr. Gear take some fat from where you don’t want it and move it back there with a Brazilian butt lift!

The Brazilian butt lift

You may have heard of butt augmentation, but a Brazilian butt lift is different. In butt augmentation, implants are surgically placed to change the shape of the patient’s derriere. In a Brazilian butt lift the patient’s own fat is used to add a little junk in the trunk! The consensus seems to be that Brazilian butt lift augmentation delivers more natural looking results.

How does Dr. Gear perform a Brazilian butt lift?

A Brazilian lift not only gives you a rounder booty, but it has another side benefit — liposuction! To get the fat to be injected into your backside, it must be harvested from an unwanted area on your body. Dr. Gear gets this fat through liposuction. Small incisions are made. A solution of saline, local anesthesia, and adrenaline is infused first, and then he inserts a thin cannula to loosen the fat cells in the area. The cannula then suctions out the fat. Up to three times the amount of fat that will be re-injected may be harvested.

Next, the fat, liquid, and blood that were suctioned out are processed to separate the fat. Dr. Gear then re-injects the fat back into the buttocks through numerous small injections all over your buttocks. He pays special attention to the upper portion to provide a younger, higher profile.

How long do results take?

Results are immediately visible, but they keep improving with time because it takes some time for the fat to “take.” It can take a full year before a patient’s full results are visible. Over time, some of the initial volume from your fat grafting procedure will diminish. On average, patients retain 60 to 80% of the transferred fat, with the body absorbing the rest.
