Liposuction Case 5

Gender
Female
Age
32 year old

Description

This lovely, but unfortunate, 32-year-old teacher was the victim of PAH or “paroxysmal adipose hyperplasia” following CoolSculpting. PAH is the pathological expansion of fat cells, in part due to inflammation. It is very difficult to correct and requires aggressive interventions, including liposuction and even abdominoplasty. She received two cycles of treatment of the abdomen and hips at an outlying med spa in Charlotte. She then went to a superstar PA injector and IG influencer who failed to recognize her condition, and she received another cycle of CS followed by steroids. My PA injector at the time recognized what was going on and referred me for corrective action, which involved aggressive, 2-stage liposuction to defeat the fibrous and tenacious fat that develops with PAH. Ultrasound or VASER-assisted liposuction is a very powerful tool to use against this phenomenon. She is six months post-op in the after images.
